It feels like spring!

The sun is out and the snow is melting. I am feeling like a new person - like I am slowly coming out of hibernation mode (key word there is slowly). I just got back from a weekend meditation retreat. Everytime I go on a retreat it is a different experience - challenging, easy, calming, insightful and always interesting.

So far today I have been catching up on blog reading, relaxing with the birds, enjoying a really great papaya/collard/mint smoothie and a cup of Pete's coffee. No plans, no checklists.

Speaking of smoothies - I have been really getting into having one on most mornings. Just put 50% greens (collard greens, swiss chard, spinach) and 50% fruit with some water and blend. Add a few ice cubes if you like it cold. Unbelievably tasty and a great way to get going in the morning.

And we have been eating more and more raw food. Which is one of the reasons I am looking forward to summer. Amazing fruits and veggies! The great thing about eating raw food is that it makes it easy to avoid gluten and other things I am allergic to. And it tastes great. I love the flax crackers and fruit cookies I have been making (the mango coconut cookies were awesome).

Here are a few (of the hundred or so) of my favourite raw food sites:

Amazing recipes: http://goneraw.com/recipes

Great Community: http://www.giveittomeraw.com

Wonderful site: http://thesunnyrawkitchen.blogspot.com

Excellent Canadian distributor for nuts and seeds: http://realrawfood.com

I am looking forward to feeling great and full of energy. I am not quite there yet but hopeful :)
