Sparrow's Nest Organics
Finally!!!
I have been looking for an organic farm close to Edmonton that offers shares. My Mom bought a share from a farm around Kingston when I lived there and I remember the amazing fresh food that was delivered every week. The idea is that at the beginning of the season you buy a share in the farm - this gives the farmers startup money for the season and you get locally grown, seasonal, organic and affordable food throughout the summer.
Sparrow's Nest Organics offers Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Working and Non-Working shares. You can contact them at sp_nest@telusplanet.net if you would like more information. Tomorrow I am going to pick up my first "harvest". Looking forward to freshly picked beet greens and strawberries...
