August is the best
| I love August even if it feels like the busiest month. I am so behind in my blogging (and everything else it seems). But I am having a great time.
Oh and I hate junk mail... I have been getting almost 4000 spam a week in my inbox and I refuse to change my email address. I have tried spamcop and spam filters and MS outlook junk mail filters but I felt like I needed to do something even more drastic. So I installed ChoiceMail which is a spam blocker. So from now on anyone who sends me an email and who is not currently in my contacts list will need to reply to an activation email the first time they write to me. I then get to choose whether to add them to my list of friendly emailers or not. I have had it installed for almost 5 hours now and LOVE IT. I feel more in control and when I get email it is from a friend or colleague. No more bombardment of drug or porn adverts... Sigh of relief. More EFMF photos soon... |

EFMF 2004 Friday
The first session that I went to on Friday was the Learn by Heart with Ferron,
I enjoyed seeing Ferron again, she still has a wonderful warm presence and great songs. She was joined with Jami Sieber on electric cello.
And I can see why Sam and Wind like Michaell Franti - he's a very charismatic, warm person. The workshop should of probably been called "Songs from Iraq" - it became quite refreshingly political and set the tone of the weekend for me.

It's here! The Edmonton Folk Music Festival 2004 kicked off last night with MC Luka Symons.
The first band Jaojoby got the festival grooving to a great start. The Dixie Hummingbirds were FABULOUS - great harmonies and wonderful musicianship. Highly recommended. I would tell you more but I have to rush off to work!

Catching Up
| August is such an amazing month - one of the busiest. Last weekend M and I had the honour of perform Kathy's and Mike's wedding ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony and I hope they have a long and wonderful life together. |
