The more stuff you have the more time you spend investing in that stuff...
Lately we have been gathering more stuff. I have been spending so much time and energy in the last while on selecting, buying, delivering, setting up, cleaning and maintaining all this stuff. It's really quite interesting, I feel like a typical north american consumer gobbling up resources.
And now I am spending time and energy fixing the stuff. In the past few days our new dishwasher doesn't work properly, the new car's windshield got a rock chip which turned into a huge crack and this morning, horror of horrors - our internet connection stopped working. What is going on? My life is all about stuff! It's taking over my life!
But I am staying on top and taking care of business. I set up an appointment for the dishwasher service person (they can only come during business hours - I have to take a whole day off of work for my dishwasher?!), got the windshield replaced (why can't Ford make a rock resistent windshield?) and reconnected to the internet (the router's ac adapter blew so I had to buy a new adapter).
Makes me think the the less stuff you have the better... except of course for those pesky conveniences like my car, dishwasher and internet connection :)
I am a consumer.

I have been so busy with renos, my mom's visit, and the Calgary Folk fest that I haven't had time to update my blog. Tonight we start setting up our home office - which means pics of the last few weeks are coming soon.
Blueberry is this weekend! My fingers are out of shape. If I am going to survive the marathon jamming sessions I better start gearing up this week. Time to start thumping that dawghouse!
