Renos continued some more
|
Our renos continue!
The front and back tiles have been installed. Not a great photo but I wanted to put some pics up before I go to work.

I am back. It was a great retreat, I learned a lot about relaxing, calming my mind and about the Dhamma (teachings of the Buddha).
I have to go in to work to put an application into production. Back to regular life. |

Happy Solstice!
We are going to the BlueGrass Solstice jam later today. Should be a great time. I think Marshall's bringing Rosalita. I will most likely finish working at 1:00 so we'll head off after that.
Tomorrow I am off to a week long meditation retreat led by Venerable Madawela Punnaji Thero.

Marshall's cd artwork is done! Next step is sending it to get manufactored.
We went to Thorton Court patio to celebrate - it has the best view of the river valley.

Good news - the carpet was ripped out and the hardwood underneath looks great. Tomorrow it'll be finished! Here are some (crooked sorry!) pics of the living room and bedroom.

We are in reno mode - everything is falling into place and going smoothly.
We've spent most of the weekend getting ready for Monday when the bedroom, livingroom and dining room get the carpet removed and the beautiful (hopefully) hard wood underneath gets refinished. We also picked our tiles for the front and back entry way: and the lino for the kitchen and stairs: The bathrooms were finished this morning and the smell of glue etc. has almost faded away. Hoorah! Our Fat Albert spruce was also planted in our front yard - it looks so small. I like the blueish tint to it. And because it is still young the needles are nice and soft.
Hopefully by mid July we will have everything finished and can kick back and enjoy the summer. That's the plan anyways. |

Rosalita
|
After 30 years of dreaming, 3 months of intensive research and 4 months of waiting for it to be built, Marshall got a National guitar. We're calling it Rosalita - it has a pretty wild rose engraving.
Here are some sound bytes:

I am busy this evening trying to download the video Marshall took this weekend and burn it to cd. Also starting to pack so that we'll be ready for the floor renovations. I am tired and low spirits - I think it's the weather. It's so cloudy and dreary.

We went and played at Katie's Krossing yesterday. It's a cool place close to Ardrossan that is in a train. In each car there is something different: a kitchen, dining room, antiques store, rest rooms, a stage which faces a sheltered area outside. There was a BBQ area where everyone had bison burgers and ice cream.
It went well, and Marshall video taped his first Grassumentary - I think he's a natural (maybe a new career direction?).
Here are some pics that I took.
